 Ancelotti on Everton's defeat to Aston Villa


Everton went into the game in need of a win to extend their European hopes, a poor run of home form was a hot topic before kick off, and this game proved to be no different than any home game this year, Carlo Ancelotti stated in his post match interview: “We didn’t play good, we didn’t start well, we made a lot of mistakes, no balance, no concentration, it was a not a good of evening”


It was a script we have seen many times this season, losing to a team, that realistically we should be beating if we want to be serious challengers for Europe.


Carlo: “I think we have to be a lot more focused and have a lot more desire”


Despite an incredible win away to Arsenal only 7 days ago, it seemed a completely different team that played tonight, “This season, the home form is like this, it is difficult to say why, it’s the same team that beat Arsenal 7 days ago”


“We could do better at home for sure, it is unbelievable the run we had away”


“We were not good, we didn’t have a good balance, we didn’t have a good solution when we had the ball”


“The season is not finished yet, we have 5 games left, we have to keep fighting to try and reach our target”

Everton: Sell, or keep?

Jordan Pickford- Keep. I’d keep Jordan Pickford, he’s shown that he is capable of being our number one countless times this season.  Robin Olsen- Sell. I wouldn’t keep Robin Olsen, I don’t think he is very reliable and is not good enough. A good back up, but not a good first team player.  Joao Virginia- Keep. No brainier here, I’d keep Joao Virginia at Everton. Perhaps a loan move is on the cards for him. He performed well in the games he played this season, but I think he needs a loan move.  Seamus Coleman- Keep. The club captain, he will stay for another season but as a backup option I think. A right back is a must in the summer for Everton.  Jonjoe Kenny- Sell. Kenny is not good enough. He never has been and never will be, one of the worst players I have saw play for us as a right back, Cuco Martina is a better right back than Kenny!
