Everton 'in talks' with Fulham defender


Fulham Under-18 star Ibane Bowat has been rumoured to a move to the Toffees, Everton, along with a host of other Premier League teams, including West Ham, Brighton and Arsenal are keen on getting the teenagers signature. 

The young centre-back has been regarded as 'the next Van Dijk'


This has been reported by Team Talk who state in their article:

Bowat penned a two-year scholarship in July 2019, but his progress has been good and he has recently been promoted into Fulham’s Under-23 squad.

The Cottagers are keen to keep the Scotland youth international, and have offered him a professional contract to sign in June.

However, there is plenty of other interest in the youngster and talks with Brighton, Arsenal, West Ham and Everton have all taken place.

Negotiations have been ongoing for the last few weeks as they all bid to take on the 6ft 2in ahead of his deal expiring at Craven Cottage in June.

Competition for Bowat is intense with German side FC Koln also interested, although it is understood an intermediary close to the deal could not agree terms with the Bundesliga outfit.

What would Denzel Dumfries bring to Everton?

Dumfries is a 25 year old right back, who currently plays his football for PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch league, has had interest from director of football Marcel Brands. Everton are still searching for a new manager, yet the Dutchman is continually linked. Names such as Nuno Espirito Santo and Eddie Howe have been thrown around, as have Christophe Galtier, however, whoever the new manager is needs to add a right back. Should Galtier arrive from Lille, the Zeki Celik links would once again arise as they did in January of 2020 and 2021. Dumfries is a raw, attacking fullback, similar to Seamus Coleman. He would add a different option to Everton’s defence and would be a substantial upgrade on the Irishman. Dumfries’ versatility is also needed to be taken into consideration. He has played as a right back, left back, central defender and even as a winger for PSV, this is the type of player that we need and should be trying to sign.

I thought we came out the blocks really slowly. Struggled to get a foot on the ball, but partly of that is Carlo’s tactics from not wanting to have the same start we had a Goodison Park. The first 30 half an hour was slow and we were struggling to string two passes together.  Tyrone Mings should have scored from close range. After the half hour mark Everton began to get their foot on the ball and keep possession much better. A few half chances along the way.  But coming out for the second half we were excellent and it was obvious that Carlo had got into them at half time. We were commiting more bodies forward and creating more chances.
