Everton to sign highly rated youngster Max Aarons?

Everton have now joined the race to join the highly rated Norwich City defender Max Aarons. The canaries will demand a fee between £30m and £35, regardless of if they are promoted to the Premier League, they are currently sitting at the top of the Sky Bet Championship, by a fine margin.

FC Bayern Munich have also opened talks to sign the Norwich star which will provide heavy competition for Everton. Manchester United are also keeping tabs on Aarons but no talks have been opened to sign him. - (Fabrizio Romano)

If Everton do pull off the signing of the youngster, it is likely that he would be the Seamus Coleman replacement. Coleman has made 289 Premier League appearances, in that time he racked up 20 goals, 22 assists and 79 clean sheets, putting himself firmly onto the list of Everton legends, giving Max Aarons gargantuan boots to fill! Let's take a further look at why Max Aarons would be the perfect Seamus Coleman replacement.

The right back has made 117 appearances for Norwich City after breaking into the first team through the academy system. In this time he has scored 4 goals and racked up 11 assists. He is very good at passing and crossing from the right side, averaging 2.3 keypasses per game this season in the championship, compared to Seamus Coleman, this is much better as he averages 0.4 key passes per game. Aarons also averages 2 crosses per game compared to Colemans 0.4, these statistics show how much the english born right back does in attack compared to Coleman, making him more of a threat offensively.

Moving onto defence, despite being a high quality attacking full back, Aarons is also a fantastic defender, especially in 1vs1 situations. He averages 0.8 tackles per game, 1.8 clearances per game and also has the lowest take on percentage in 1vs1 situations making him perfect for Everton. Seamus Coleman averages 1.7 tackles per game and 1.5 clearances per game, taking into consideration how dominant Norwich have been this season compared to Everton. Aarons is also just 21 years old, giving him plenty of time to maximise his potential and hopefully follow the foot steps of Seamus Coleman and become an Everton legend.
